Storage Boxes..for summer!
These are really popular in the summer here in Spain with my cats. No bedding is required inside as they also love to sharpen their claws in the box. After a while it does get shredded, but these only cost about 10 euros for 6 boxes. I found that if you cut the lid ( a little less than half) and then sellotape it back on they seem to love this little bit of cover.
There are larger ones you could use for the winter, with enough room for a blanket. They also like to play with the other cats through the holes in the side, but as my cats are semi feral this can get a bit boisterous at times.

CAT SOFA - Made from storage boxes
I realise you have to be a bit mad about cats to go this much trouble and you can buy cat towers which mine do have, but its tricky getting more than one or two cats on them at one time and they cost a fortune. In theory this should sleep 5 or 6, (its right by the fire) but this is cats we talking about.
The base is made from two very large removal boxes I bought from a supermarket, 5 euros each. I bought one spare to reinforce the tops as I have some heavyweight cats here. Holes are cut out so that they can go underneath where there is plenty of room, enough in fact for at least 3 cats in each one, but my cats don’t share, so once one cat gets underneath I am afraid there is no room at the inn for another one.
I then covered it in Fablon as I draw the line at removal boxes in my lounge. The top has a single quilt and then covered with a blanket.
Not exactly my choice of furniture for my lounge, but I afraid if my cats are happy - I am too!!!
Plastic Storage Boxes
These cost around 10 euros from a supermarket and I just cut a hole in the front (about the size of a cat flap) with a stanley knife. You have to be careful when cutting that you don’t crack the plastic or cut an odd finger off in the process.
When cutting the bottom of the hole leave a good bit to hold in the bedding.
They seem to love the fact that they can see out, that is when they are not asleep!!
If they are positioned on a window sill with some cover they should stay dry inside if it rains.
Cats seem to love some type of cover over their heads, that is why they often sit underneath a table. Maybe they think a golden eagle is going to come down and snatch them away!

CHEAP IDEAS FOR CAT’S BEDS
Below are some ideas for cheap cats beds that my cats love, having previously spent a fortune on expensive cats beds.
Its a good idea NOT to put your cat in the bed, let him find it himself and the higher you can put the bed the better as long its safe and will not fall when he jumps into it. A soft blanket inside the bed often makes it more attractive to the cat.
